Our Certificates and Accreditations demonstrate our commitment to upholding industry standards, to self-improvement and are testament to the quality and long-lifetime value of our products.
We use only the highest quality materials in the manufacture of our chairs. Where applicable all components are tested to the relevant British standards for safety and durability. We are members of SATRA and use them to test our products to the highest applicable British Standards. We work to, and are accredited with, the ISO9001 Quality Management Standard.
Summit Chairs has ISO14001 environmental management certification and is a full member of FIRA’s Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP). Specifically designed for the furniture industry, FISP requires us to meet far more stringent and wide ranging levels of accountability, over and above those set out in ISO14001. It is also important for us to ensure maximum levels of product recyclability – and, where possible, to use recycled materials in our production processes.
Summit Chairs enjoys UKAS accredited, ISO9001 quality management certification. We are also members of SATRA who assist us in the development and product testing process. This ensures our seating products achieve the highest levels of strength, reliability and stability, supported by our comprehensive 5 year warranties. Indeed all our operator and task chairs exceed the minimum EU requirements for VDU seating. Structural components have also been thoroughly tested to BS5459.
Summit Chairs has been manufacturing commercial seating since 1977. Over the years we have built an enviable reputation for quality, workmanship and service. Everything, from the frame construction and upholstery through to assembly, is carried out by our own highly skilled UK-based work force. This enables us to continually monitor and improve processes, bringing to the market innovative new ranges that deliver on all counts: aesthetics, ergonomics, quality, function and price. As an environmentally-conscious organisation, we are also committed to maintaining zero conflict between our business and environmental principles. In fact we firmly believe that improvements in one field can help drive the other.

Dear Customers
As you are no doubt aware, the current volatile climate has seen stark increases in raw materials over the past 9-12 months.
As a manufacturer, we have seen increases in Foam, Metal, Steel and Timber as well as an increase in lead times and delivery costs from our suppliers. We have done everything possible to mitigate the time delays by increasing our stock holding capability but we now find we have no choice other than to raise our product prices.
To that end, from March 1st 2021 the Summit range will increase by 5%. In addition to this change, our carriage charge will increase to £30 for individual products direct to your customer unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Whilst we understand that this news will not be welcome, we do hope you understand the reasons for this. We are happy to answer any questions or queries you may have. Many thanks for your continued business and support and we look forward to a brighter, more prosperous 2021!
Best regards,
David Simpson
CEO & Design Director
